The Minsk State Machine-building College is one of the leading educational establishments in the system of secondary specialized education in the Republic of Belarus.
The college was founded in 1954. At present it is a big educational establishment training specialists for the engineering industry of Belarus.
It is situated in Minsk, the capital of the Republic of Belarus, 25, Dolgobrodskaya St. More than 2000 students study at the day-time and extra-mural (correspondence) departments of the college.
The extra-mural department of the college offers courses for adults who wish to study and acquire professions of
a technologist, accountant, specialist in marketing, economist in the engineering industry.
There are two levels of college education.
Young people have two routes that they can follow - one based on school and work – based learning (the 1 stage), and the other – on school and college education (the 2 stage).
The students of the college have all facilities to acquire good knowledge, computer and trade skills, to go in for sports. They have a good library and a big, light reading hall at their disposal. The college has competent staff and teachers. So the college provides high quality education and the students have the opportunity to achieve their potential.
Every year the students of the college have practice in the college workshop, at the different plants of Minsk. In the shops of the plants our technical students work on machine- tools, they study characteristics of machine-tools, engines, technical maintenance of machine-tools and vehicles.
During their internship the students have the opportunity to learn skills on real jobs under actual learning conditions. They encounter daily situations in an adult environment which cause them to examine their values and reappraise their potential and social situations.
Education in the college is not only concentrated on academic study. Great value is placed on activities like organizing the school club activities, sport events. The teachers and the students organize concerts, parties, sport competitions, general festivities.
Every year about four hundred young people enter the college to receive education and to get a profession. The college trains specialists in the following professions: a technician, a technician- mechanic, a technologist, an economist, an accountant, a specialist in marketing.
